Abstract

A complete synopsis of the localities of 14 Vaucheria taxa (13 species and 1 variety) for the Baikal region in Irkutsk oblast and the Republic of Buryatia is given. The total number of studied populations is 413. Only four widespread species, V. bursata, V. racemosa, V. canalicularis, and V. frigida var. frigida, prevail among Vaucheria collections, accounting for 79% of all populations. These data could be considered representative of the continental regions of Asian Russia.
