Abstract

An algorithm for plant parenchimal cell delineation is developed. It works on digital photos made by polarized light microscopy and allows digitizing many parameters of each cell on large data sets. A comparison of dimensional patterns of leaves and formalization of the cell arrangement in oblique rows are presented with the example of unistratose leaa lamina of two closely related moss species, Plagiomnium elatum and P. medium.
