Abstract

Generally, aniline oligomers are responsible for the self-assembly that guides the growth of polyaniline supramolecular structures. Therefore, they are important to elucidate the role of oligomers in aniline chemical oxidative polymerization system. In this study, we separated the main aniline oligomer components produced by the oxidation of aniline in aqueous solution by using thin-layer chromatography to ensure that the oligomers formed in the aniline chemical oxidative polymerization system. Then, these oligomers were introduced into the chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline with different acidities, and the relationship between oligomers and polyaniline supramolecular structures was investigated. The findings obtained provide useful clues for uncovering the formation mechanism of polyaniline supramolecular structures and the role of oligomers in the chemical oxidative polymerization process.
