Abstract

Copolymerization of acrylamide, acrylic acid, and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide with the macromonomer of the ovomucoid, proteases inhibitor, has afforded a hemosorbent for selective removal of activated proteolytic enzymes from blood. The dependence of the blood clotting time in the hemosorbent on its structure and composition has been investigated, and the ability of the hemosorbent to absorb α-chymotrypsin from human blood plasma has been estimated. It has been shown that the introduction of acrylic acid units in the hemosorbent structure increases its thromboresistance as well as sorption capacity and simplifies the method of the hemosorbent fabrication.
