Abstract

Crystallization of the semiconductor nanoparticle, cobalt sulfide (CoS), embedded in crossed chitosan was performed by biomimetic method. Structural, morphological, and sensing property studies of the materials were carried out by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy, and fluorescence analysis. A simple, rapid, and specific array for dibutyl phthalate was further established. The nanocomposite film was found to be a potential sensor material for esters.
