Abstract

The high-temperature polycondensation of aromatic bisphenols (phenolphthalein or diphenylolpropane) with methylene chloride in alkaline media is used to obtain oligoformals, whose interaction with terephthaloyl-di(p-oxybenzoyl) dichloride results in the formation of new copolymers with satisfactory thermal stability and resistance to some aggressive media.
