Abstract
A correlation between the 155Gd Mössbauer spectra of the GdAlO3 and Gd3Al5O12 compounds and Gd3+-doped glasses in the (BaGeO3)1 − x − y (Al2O3) x (0.45CaF2 · 0.55MgF2) y system is revealed. The conclusion is drawn that, in the structure of the glasses under investigation, trivalent gadolinium atoms form structural units characteristic of mixed gadolinium and aluminum oxides.
