Russian Enterprises in the Spring of 2023: Overcoming the Sanctions Crisis and Strengthening Investment Activity

Abstract—

The article analyzes the results of the latest survey of Russian enterprises in the real sector, conducted by the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Information is presented on the impact of economic sanctions against Russia on domestic enterprises. The opinions of enterprises about the role of the state and the level of bureaucracy in the economy are reflected. Data on the investment activity of enterprises and sources of investment financing are provided. The assessments of enterprises regarding the level of competition with foreign manufacturers in modern conditions are considered. An analysis of the situation in the field of processing industrial waste is made.

The survey involved 132 enterprises (electric power; ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy; chemistry; mechanical engineering; construction materials industry; forestry, woodworking and pulp and paper industries; light, food, medical, pharmaceutical, printing and local industries; agriculture; construction; transport; healthcare; hotels and catering) from 48 regions of Russia. Unfortunately, stricter privacy regulations in the country have led to a certain reduction in our sample.
