Acquisition of the Severnaya Neft company: Retrospective analysis of the transaction effectiveness

Abstract

This paper presents a retrospective investigation into the effectiveness of the integration transaction involving the acquisition of oil and gas assets from OAO Severnaya Neft by OAO Rosneft. The main points of the transaction are highlighted, key economic indicators of the company’s activity before and after the transaction are presented, and the performance of its main financial ratios is analyzed. On the basis of data on the subsequent development of OOO RN-Severnaya Neft within the structure of OAO Rosneft, it is shown that this transaction was appropriate.
