Abstract

A one-pot synthesis of 4,9-dimethyl-2,3a,5a,7,8a,10a-hexaazaperhydropyrenes by the catalytic heterocyclization of 2,6-dimethyl-1,4,5,8-tetraazadecalin with a cyclomethylating reagent (formaldehyde or tetramethylmethanediamine) and substituted anilines.
