Abstract

An efficient catalytic system consisting of 20 mol % FeCl3·6H2O and 20 mol % trifluoromethanesulfonic acid has been developed for the amidation of binor-S with organic nitriles in toluene under microwave irradiation. The reaction is generally carried out at 100°C and is complete in 15 min.
