Abstract
Enantioselective aminomethylation of 1-(benzyloxy)propan-2-one with 3-[(pent-2-yn-1-yl)oxy]aniline and aliphatic aldehydes in the presence of pseudoephedrine as a chiral catalyst afforded the corresponding Mannich type condensation products as mixtures of (3R,4R) and (3R,4S) diastereoisomers at ratios of 3:1 to 5:1 in 57–63% yields with a high diastereoisomer excess.
