Abstract

A series of novel (1-aryl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methyl 3-acetamido-1-phenyl-1H-benzo[f]chromene-2-carboxylates were synthesized from prop-2-yn-1-yl 3-acetamido-1-phenyl-1H-benzo[f]chromene-2-carboxylate. 3-Amino-1-phenyl-1H-benzo[f]chromene-2-carbonitrile and 2-amino-4-phenyl-4a,5,6,7,8,8a-hexahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitrile were prepared by three-component condensation of benzaldehyde, β-naphthol or cyclohexanol, and malononitrile. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activities in comparison to chloramphenicol and amphotericin B as reference antibiotics.
