Abstract

Looking at the importance of thiazine derivatives as biologically active compounds, herein we describe the synthesis of 4,6-diaryl-2-hydrazinyl-1,3-thiazines from the corresponding chalcones and thiosemicarbazide in the presence of sodium hydroxide on heating. The synthesized compounds were tested for their larvicidal activity against saltwater shrimp eggs (Artemia cysts), and some of the compounds showed good to excellent activities. Their in silico drug likeness was estimated.
