Abstract
Derivatives of hindered phenols have antibacterial activity, the level of which can be associated with certain structural elements―structural effectors (SE). The SE criterion correlating structure with bioactivity was used in the analysis of the antibacterial activity of two groups of organic compounds: aliphatic alcohols and carboxylic acids. Evidence for a prognostic potential of the SE concept was obtained.
