Abstract
Esterification of nicotinic acid and the reaction products of chloramine-B with allyl chloride and acrylonitrile was studied. Under the influence of the electron-acceptor sulfonamido group, the cyano group in 3-cyano-2-(benzenesulfonamido)propyl pyridine-3-carboxylate undergoes facile heterocyclization with polarophiles to form pyrrole and pyridine derivatives. Antimicrobial activity assessment of the synthesized esters showed their high efficiency
