Synthesis of Schiff bases from biphenyl-4-amine and vanillin, vanillal, and their esters

Abstract

Reactions of vanillin, vanillal, and esters derived therefrom with biphenyl-4-amine in anhydrous methanol gave previously unknown Schiff bases containing ether and ester moieties.
