Abstract

The study deals with treatment of carbonate reservoirs with carboxylic acid solutions. The kinetics of calcite dissolution in carboxylic acids was studied by volumetric analysis. The orders and rate constants of calcite dissolution at room temperature in solutions of hydroxy acids and aliphatic acids were studied. The dependence of the rate constants on the basicity and acidity parameter in the series of hydroxy acids and aliphatic acids was determined.
