Electrodeposition of tantalum coatings for corrosion protection of nitinol articles

Abstract

Electrodeposition of tantalum coatings from molten salts onto nitinol substrates was studied in steady and pulsed modes. The adhesion of the tantalum coatings, their porosity, and the corrosion resistance, of the nitinol-tantalum composite were determined.
