Abstract

Results of a study of the influence exerted by the cation composition on the bulk and surface properties of modified lignosulfonates are reported. It was found that the dissolution of lignosulfonic acids is accompanied by dissociation and conformational transitions of macromolecules, which leads to concentration of molecules of lignosulfonic acids in the solution bulk and, as a consequence, to a substantial increase in the surface tension.
