Benzene separation from the benzene fraction of reformer naphtha by extractive rectification with N-methylpyrrolidone-sulfolane mixtures

Abstract

Extractive rectification of the benzene fraction of reformer naphtha with N-methylpyrrolidone-sulfolane mixtures exhibiting synergistic effect was studied. After benzene separation, the distillate contains less than 1 vol% benzene and can be used as component of automobile gasolines.
