Abstract
Paraffins were purified by recrystallization. The extent to which the paraffin fractions C10–C13, C14–C17, and C18–C23 increase the cetane numbers of summer and winter grades of Russian diesel fuel was examined. The cetane numbers of the initial diesel fuels and those with additions of paraffin fractions were determined on an IDT-69 installation by the method of flash coincidence.
