Abstract

The feasibility of sol-gel synthesis of a series of biosorbents with encapsulated starches, intended for water treatment, was elucidated. The factors governing the morphology of the resulting materials were examined. The performance of the composites synthesized in sorption removal of polyvalent metal ions from water was estimated.
