Abstract

A mathematical model of separation of suspensions with a non-Newtonian dispersion medium by two-stage pressure-head flotation in a cylindrical direct-flow hydrocyclone was developed. A system of differential equations describing convective diffusion and motion of a particle-bubble complex was solved numerically. The concentration field was modeled and integral separation parameters were determined.
