Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to the need to quantify the toxicity to humans of furanocoumarins contained in the juice of Heracleum Sosnowski. The purpose of the study is to assess the toxicity (average lethal doses—LD50) of some components contained in the juice of Heracleum Sosnowski. A statistically significant relationship has been established between the values of average lethal doses for oral and intramuscular injection of furanocoumarins to lab animals. The average lethal doses of furanocoumarins (angelicin, methoxalene, xanthoxin, imperatorin, bergapten, coumarin) for humans after oral injection have been calculated.
