  • Published:
Russian Journal of General Chemistry Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

The review analyzes the published data on scientific, applied, and marketing studies on the development of modern synthetic bases of motor oils as marketable products. The conventional world-accepted classifications and performance characteristics of base oils are considered. The main trends in scientific research on the development of effective synthetic bases of motor oils and prospects for their further development are presented. The assessment of the state of the global and Russian motor oil markets according to major market indicators is given; the market development forecast for the coming years is presented.
