Abstract

A novel luminescence coordination polymer [Zn(hmph)(bibp)]n (1) has been synthesized by mild solvothermal method. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with a = 17.304(3) Å, b = 11.2628(18) Å, c = 33.951(5) Å; α = β = γ = 90°, V = 6616.6(18) Å3, C33H32ZnN6O4, Mr = 642.02, Z = 8, Dc = 1.289 g/cm3, μ = 0.787 mm–1, F(000) = 2672, R1 = 0.0563 and wR2 = 0.1071 with I > 2σ(I), and represents a metal-organic monolayer structure. Thermal stability and luminescence of the product have been studied. Compound 1 can be a promising luminescence-based chemical sensor for Cr2O72– ion based on the quenching mechanism.
