Abstract
The interaction of carboxymethylalginic acid hydrazides with sodium nitrite in acidic medium yielded polymers containing azide groups. Stability of aqueous solutions of the prepared products has been studied as a function of pH and temperature. Acylation ability of the products in the reactions with aromatic amines and hydrazides of aromatic carboxylic acids has been investigated.
