Abstract
A method of synthesis of 1-silatranyl nitrate O2NOSi(OCH2CH2)3N based on the reaction of 1-hydrosilatrane with mercury nitrate in the acetonitrile medium was developed. The structure of the synthesized 1-silatranyl nitrate, mp 227°C, was confirmed by elemental analysis, 1H, 13C, and 29Si NMR spectoscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. Silatranyl nitrate previously described in the literature as yellowish viscous oil apparently contains impurities preventing its crystallization.
