Abstract
Kinetic studies and MP3 quantum-chemical calculations were used to show that the reactions of ε-caprolactam with phosphorodiamidous chloride and phosphorochloridites I–III involve nucleophilic substitution of the chlorine atom in the latter by a 2-oxoazepane residue.
