Abstract
The reaction between [chloro(phenyl)arsanyl]acetic and chloroacetic acids proceeds in alkaline aqueous medium by the Sn2 mechanism and is accompanied by alkaline hydrolysis of chloroacetic acid. Mean rate constants and thermodynamic parameters of the reaction are evaluated.
