Abstract
2,5-Dialkyl-3-(diethoxyphosphinoylmethyl)furans when reacted with the paraformaldehydehydrogen chloride system in the presence of zinc chloride form chloromethyl derivatives. The compounds obtained eagerly react with butanethiol and diethylamine to give the corresponding alkylsulfanylmethyl-and aminomethyl-substituted furylmethylphosphonates unavailable by other ways.
