The effect of substituents in ligands and of anionic composition on the exchange interaction in binuclear Cu(II) complexes based on 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol

Abstract

A series of novel binuclear Cu(II) complexes based on 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and containing aminoguanidine and hydrazinobenzthio(oxo)zole as variable chelatophore fragments were synthesized. In these complexes, Cl, Br, NO 3 , and ClO 4 are both the inner-and outer-sphere ions. The magnetochemical properties of the title complexes were compared and the anion nature was shown to influence the structure of the complexes and the strength of antiferromagnetic interaction.
