Abstract
A slowing medium based on parallel corrugated metal surfaces is proposed and investigated. The study of the slowing properties of the medium was carried out using a numerical method in the Ansys HFSS software environment. It is shown that the medium has strong spatial and weak frequency dispersion. The latter circumstance makes it possible to use it as a material for broadband lenses of the VHF–UHF ranges of electromagnetic waves. As an example of such use, the synthesis and analysis of an antenna based on the Mikaelyan lens is carried out.
