Abstract
A solution to the problem of excitation of a slotted antenna array (AA) with a rectangular waveguide filled with layered insulator is presented. The spectral method proposed for the analysis has significant advantages in the numerical implementation of the developed algorithm. The efficiency of the proposed technique is proven by the calculated results for the AA based on a rectangular waveguide with a thin dielectric layer adjacent to the slot emitters. It is shown that such a dielectric layer allows a low-frequency shift of the AA working interval in comparison with an analog based on an air-filled rectangular waveguide without an increase in the transverse cross section of the waveguide.
