Abstract

A combined antenna optimized for excitation by the bipolar pulse having the duration of 3 ns is numerically investigated. Three approaches are used. It is shown that the partial phase center of the antenna is situated in the antenna middle in the H plane and closer to the plane of the antenna aperture in the E plane at the central spectral frequency of 350 MHz. The radiation center is between the partial phase centers at a distance from the aperture plane. This distance is approximately equal to 1/4 of the antenna length.
