Abstract

The paraxial model of a dense electron beam has been studied using analytical solutions that describe curvilinear sheet beams in a uniform magnetic field and without it. It is demonstrated how important it is to use, as a criterion for the accuracy of an approximate solution, the concept of a residual whose value is related to the error known for investigated reference flows.

Notes

  1. In terms of the paraxial theory, the magnetic field is directed along the х axis.
