Abstract

A realization of an analytic method for calculation (in the quasi-static approximation) of electric potentials excited by a dipole source in a circular conducting cylinder of a finite length is considered. Such an approach is oriented to determination of potentials on the surface of the chest with small computational expenses, which allows reconstruction of the source parameters from measured surface potentials in inverse problems of electrocardiography. Correction of expansions of the electric potential into double series of angular and radial variations is proposed on the basis of comparative analysis of different approaches. The obtained relationships are reduced to a form suitable for calculations. The proposed formulas are tested by comparing them with the results obtained with the use of numerical methods. The problem of selection of the number of terms in summation of double series is analyzed.
