Abstract
A two-crystal paratellurite acoustooptic modulator of nonpolarized light is considered. It is shown that, in the case of highly divergent light, the efficiency of diffraction decreases due to boundedness of the angular aperture of acoustooptic diffraction and formation of two additional diffraction orders. It is found out that there is an optimal region of parameters in which the maximum efficiency is attained. The quantitative characteristics of this region are determined.
