Abstract

A theory of a plasma capacitor is developed with allowance for the spatial dispersion due to the thermal motion of plasma electrons. Plasma is described in the hydrodynamic approximation, and collisions are taken into account. Planar, spherical, and cylindrical geometries are considered. In addition, a capacitor filled with nonisothermal plasma is investigated. Formulas for the capacitances of plasma capacitors are derived, and the resonance properties of such capacitors are studied.
