Abstract
An exciter of antenna arrays on the basis of EBG structures in the form of a double-layer planar reflector is analyzed. The finite-element method is used to solve the problem of the oblique incidence of a plane wave onto a reflector formed by an EBG structure with a rectilinear generatrix. It is shown that the proposed reflector can simultaneously perform phase correction and energy transfer from one layer to another. The reflector matching conditions and phase characteristics are determined.
