Abstract

An inhomogeneous dielectric layer in which the propagation velocity is frequency-independent is considered. The obtained solution exactly coincides with a solution to this equation obtained in the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin quasi-classical approximation. The matching layer can be used for wideband dispersionless matching of media.
