Abstract
The appearance of jumps of the contact potential difference in systems with a size-quantized film or a superlattice during variation of the magnetic field is considered. It is proposed to use these features for determination of microscopic parameters of low-dimensional systems. In the case of a film, these parameters are the cyclotron mass and the mass in the direction perpendicular to the film surface, the width of a level, and the electron concentration. In the case of a superlattice, the parameters are the widths of the allowed and forbidden minibands, the cyclotron effective mass and the mass in the direction of the superlattice axis.
