Abstract
The field of a radiator located in free space and surrounded by an inhomogeneous spherical plasma shell whose permittivity passes through the point ɛ = 0 is found and investigated. It is shown that the behavior of the permittivity in the vicinity of the value ɛ = 0 substantially affects the formation of the source field. The resonance properties of the obtained solution to the problem are studied for a sphere of a small electrical dimension.
