Abstract
It has been established that, in stabilized high-temperature superconducting (HTS) materials, the transition between the superconducting and resistive states is electromagnetic and the resistive state has universal characteristics in voltage and resistance per unit length: 0.040 V/cm and 50 μΩ/cm, respectively. It has been found that, after the transition from the resistive to the normal state at a voltage level of more than 0.7 V in the normal state, the superconducting properties of an HTS material are irreversibly degraded. The obtained characteristics make it possible to determine the safe operation level and estimate the resistance and voltage level in HTS elements of electrical equipment in a stable resistive mode.
