Abstract
The process of material destruction under mechanical impact (shock) was studied. The process of destruction was visualized with the use of a mechanoluminescent composite material based on a glue transparent in the visible spectral region and a luminophore powder deposited onto the surface of a studied material. The mechanoluminescent layer was shown to be sensitive to crack formed under shock to visualize the process of their formation and growth with a good resolution.
