Abstract
A new method for the spatial separation of electrons with various initial energies in helical electron beams of gyrotrons has been developed based on the drift of electrons in crossed magnetic (azimuthal) and electric (axial) fields. The results of analytical calculations and numerical simulations show that the proposed method of electron separation can be used to construct effective schemes of multistep recuperation for electron beam parameters typical of high-power gyrotron type devices.
