Abstract

According to experiments, a jumplike repartition of the discharge burning takes place at some parameters of Hall-thruster operating. This paper presents results of probing measurements demonstrating the difference in the distribution of floating and plasma potentials, electron temperature, and electric-field strength in a channel of the Hall thruster at two different types of discharge burning. The measurements were carried out along the discharge-channel axis using Langmuir probes.
