Abstract

Simple analytical relations are presented that allow the energy absorbed in a plasma channel to be evaluated. The dynamics of the energy characteristics of a microwave streamer in air has been studied. It is shown that, upon termination of the stage of streamer elongation in air, a quasi-stationary state is established that is characterized by a weak change in the absorbed power W st, which is close to the maximum value dependent on the form factor of a plasma cloud (plasmoid). The fraction of the wave beam energy transferred to the plasmoid does not exceed several percents.
