Abstract
The conditions for achieving an optimum regime for the electric explosion of conductors in liquid media are determined, under which all the energy stored in a capacitor is introduced into a conductor within the first half-period of discharge. It is shown that the specific energy introduced into the conductor in the optimum regime depends only on the properties of the conductor material (metal). An equation is obtained that gives the amount of energy that can be introduced into a conductor during its explosion in the optimum regime.
